The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party ,YPP , Dotun Ojon on Wednesday alleged Special Adviser to governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Rural and Community Development, Kolawole Babatunde of using government machinery to influence unlawful arrest, of Ajiroba Oladapo, one of the party’s councillorship candidates in Akoko South East during the just concluded local government election in Ondo state.
In a statement made available to ROVING REPORTERS ,Ojon said
“ The attention of the Leadership of the Young Progressives Party has been drawn to the unlawful and unjustifiable arrest of the Candidate of the party in the just concluded Local Government election in Akoko South East Ward 3 Ifira.

The police had invited Hon Ajiroba Oladapo for what they termed a friendly discussion – only for him to be detained on the order of one Honourable Kola Babatunde – allegedly acting on the behalf of government.
It must be stated that the local government election in this said Ward was allegedly disrupted by this same person – using thugs who beared dangerous weapons and harrassed one of our party agents.
I therefore call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the International Community and well meaning Indigenes of Ondo State to call the State Government to order – as this political bully may not be tolerated for too long. ”
Efforts to get the reactions of Babatunde were unsuccessful as his phone number was unavailable while text message sent to him has not been replied.
