Tension brews as Masquerade follower stabbed to death in Ondo

Akure ,the ondo state capital on Sunday witnessed what can be described as a palpable tension over an alleged stabbing of one of the followers of local masquerade, who was reportedly said to have died instantly.

It was gathered from an eyewitness that the victim was said to have been allegedly stabbed by a trader, leading to a reprasial attack on some traders around Oja oba in Akure.

The reason for the attack on the victim was yet to be ascertained, as he was said to have been stabbed at Odopetu area and lost so much blood in the process.

It was learnt that the situation caused pandemonium in the heart of the capital city for hours before security men were deployed to bring the unrest under control.

Many traders and residents around Oja Oba/Oba Adesida Road were seen running for their lives as some hoodlums were shooting heavily while the road was deserted of motorists for hours.
