Sobe, Edo State Under Siege
* as Fulani Herdsmen kidnap 6 in village center in broad daylight
The sleepy Community of Sobe in Edo north has come under sever seige by men suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen.
Reports has it that of not less than sixmd people were taken hostage after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle and took them away into a nearby forest.
They were said to have been traveling to Sabongida Ora when their moving vehicle was waylaid and shot at. The shooting inflicted in injuries on some of the travelers who were still taken away.
It is a reign of terror in Sobe community as fulani hersdmen held the community hostage.
Also, a few days ago, one Mr Owolafe suffered same fate at the ifon axis of the community close to Agric farm settlement where the herdsmen intercepted his vehicle and sprayed bullets on it.
This is coming of the heels of a similar incident last week, when herdsmen entered the heart of sobe community and kidnapped one Lamout Okheren from her house
Some people have lost their lives while others are suffering life time deformity.
This has affected agricultural activities which has since stopped in the community because of fear of the herdsmen.
The community has cried out to both the federal and state governments to come to their aid. “We hereby employ the federal government, Edo State government, Nigeria police force and all other sister agencies to come to our aid because we are suffering in our own land” one of the chiefs from the community cried out.
