Septuagenarian kidnapped in Ondo


A seventy–year old Mrs Fehintola Wewe of 13 broad street, Sabomi, ese odo local government area of Ondo state has been reportedly kidnapped by some  suspected armed men.

This was coming barely three weeks after Some gunmen reportedly kidnapped the wife, children and driver of the traditional ruler of Odigbo town, Oba Rufus Akinrinmade.

The victims were kidnapped on Ikare-Owo Expressway in Oba Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Mrs wewe was said to have been taken away by the gun men at about 11pm on Friday 3rd January,2020 when the gunmen raided the area and also left with valuables.

A family source said the case had been reported in igbekebo divisional police station while the scene had been assessed.

It was also gathered that the family is yet to hear from the abductors since the day of the incident.

The command spokesperson,  Femi Joseph, a Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) confirmed the incident.

He stressed that the command was intensifying efforts to rescue the woman alive.

Joseph said Police men were combing the forest to fish out the culprits and free the woman.


“We are doing everything possible to ensure that the old woman regains her freedom” he added.
