Reelection: NBA Akure Branch congratulates Akeredolu, pledges support

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA Akure branch on Wednesday congratulated the Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy governor elect, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa over their reelection to the office.

Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa were on Sunday declared winners of the just concluded governorship election in Ondo state.

The NBA in a letter signed by its Branch Chairman, Mr Rotimi Olorunfemi and Secretary, Mr Ademola Ikujuni describes the victory of APC as a reflection of the good work and people oriented projects and agenda of the Akeredolu-led administration.

The association expressed confidence in his governance style and promised their unalloyed support for a successful second term of the legal icon.

The NBA noted with pleasure the attention of the governor to the judiciary in its functionality as an independent arm of government.

“We believe in your leadership style and we hope you do more to beat the imaginations of your political adversaries”.

“The NBA Akure branch will not relent at supporting your noble course of transforming the sunshine state”.

The NBA in the letter testifies to the good deeds of Governor Akeredolu in his first term and also notes that he will surpass it in his second term in office.

The letter reads in part “On behalf of the members and Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association Akure Branch, we congratulate His Excellency, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on his well deserved victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election held on Saturday, 10th October, 2020.

Your Excellency, your victory is a clear indication and an eloquent testimony that the good people of ONDO STATE are happy with the excellent work you are doing and have full confidence in your ability and capacity to continue to pilot the affairs of the state to an enviable height.

Your Excellency, your election is also a clear manifestation of democracy at work and an Indication that Indeed, power belongs to the people. And as a firm believer in democratic ethos, we trust that Your Excellency will not disappoint the good people of Ondo State, who have willingly given you their mandate to continue to rule in their Temporal affairs for another four years and continue to put SMIIES on their faces as “Mr. Infrastructure” and “Mr. Talk and Do”.

We are therefore very optimistic that not only you will continue your good, we are also very optimistic that you will do more during your second tenure for the good people of our dear State, more especially for the judiciary and the legal profession, your primary constituency, where you are held in very high esteem.
