Reactions trail inclusion of Akeredolu’s Son in Handover Committee

Reactions have trailed the naming of Babajide, governor Akeredolu’s son among the newly constituted Handover Strategy and Implementation Committee.

Akeredolu had Friday constituted the committee which according to Information commissioner ,Donald Ojogo was to “ ensure a seamless process preparatory to a second term in office.”

The Committee’s membership is as follows:

The committee has Mr. ‘Dare Aragbaiye (HoS) Chairman, Dr. Patrick Tolani, Ms Cecilia Akintomide, Mr. Ayo Sotinrin, Mr. Omololu Elegbe and Mr. Babajide Akeredolu   

The Committee’s has among other mandates to help coordinate the hand over process, ensure this administration’s records are appropriately archived, facilitate the off-boarding of current administration personnel as well as ease the on-boarding process of incoming personnel.

Akeredolu directed all political appointees, MDAs and current administrative personnel to cooperate with the committee to ensure a smooth handover.

Social media platforms have however been awash with reactions from both those who objected the naming of Babajide Akeredolu and those who defended the action of the governor.

Bode Obanla :Honestly, i disagree with those condemning the appointment of Aketi’s son and HOS as members of inauguration committee. What are we saying? Is he not read enough?. Is the age below eighteen? Is he no more our brother? What’s wrong in giving such assignment to his son. Is it not equally good to include a trusted man in the committee? I disagree with the critics.

Jimoh Rasheed :When will our people stop playing politics of deceit. Babse Aketi is more than capable and qualify to hold any political position in ondo state and Nigeria at large.

Oyewamide Wande Ojo: @ Adepoju Dapo Sam,You get time she! Babse was one of the arguments deployed by them against the reelection of his father. Did the people of the state listen to them? Were the electors swayed by their puerile arguments?

To them government is an eatery into which a governor should not invite any member of his family since he is there and so that the food will circulate very well.

But to Aketi, governance is about service. Any qualified indigene can be invited to serve irrespective of who is his father or mother. That’s what they don’t know.
Leave them to continue to wallow in bitterness.

The issue of his son’s waywardness and corruption an: his wife’s meddlesomeness and exploitation in government were issues that made AKETI unpopular apart from his poor performance… Ordinarily ,on a level playing ground AKETI would have lost the election WOEFULLY!

UP TILL NOW TWO MONTHS SALARIES ,SIX MONTHS COOPERATIVE DEDUCTIONS & PENSIONS OF ONDO STATE WORKERS & RETIREES DIVERTED INTO VOTES BUYING BY AKETI HAVE NOT BEEN PAID TO THE DEPRIVED WORKERS, HENCE HUNGER 8. POVERTY PERVADES IN ONDO STATE!

ONDO STATE PEOPLE were arm-twisted by AKETI with irresistible amounts in exchange for their votes!
