OSOPADEC workers allege Ondo Accountant General of delaying payment of salaries

Workers of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC Akure on Wednesday issued a three day ultimatum to the Management of the Commission to pay their October 2020 Salary and other emoluments as approved by the Governor.

The workers under the auspices of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTURE) issued the ultimatum after their Congress held at the head office Akure.

The Acting Chairman of the workers union, Comrade Ademuwagun Sola expressed that the workforce had been putting pressure on the management for over two months after getting the nod of governor Akerodolu.

He however alleged that the state Accountant-General, Mr Laolu Akindolire of “deliberately refusing to release funds in these regards. ”

He pointed out that a seven-day ultimatum was issued to the Management on the 9th of December, 2020, which expired on Wednesday 16th December 2020 but to their dismay, the Management did not deem it necessary to bring members of the union Executives to a round table for discussion.

“ As a follow up to the first notice, a three day ultimatum has been issued to the OSOPADEC Managemen to immediately pay our salaries and other emoluments as graciously approved by Mr Governor.

We appealed to all well-meaning stakeholders in the state to help them prevail on the Accountant General of the State to release funds to this effect, without further delay. ” He said.
