Ondo youths protest death of colleague killed by ‘Hit and Run’ Bullion Van

Youths of Oshinle quarters of akure, ondo state on Friday staged a protest against the death of a twenty nine year old, Ibikunle Alonge who was crushed to death by a hit and run bullion van at Fanibi junction along ondo road.

The youths in their hundreds staged the protest from Oshinle to the Deji of Akure’s palace to express their grievance over reckless driving of the bullion van belonging to a commercial bank along Arakale and the security agents attached to the convoy which led to the death of Kunle Alonge.

Friends of the diseased, Michael Lawrence and Tayo Akingbulugbe frowned against the insensitivity of the driver of the bullion van and the security men in the convoy who abandoned the corpse of Mr Alonge on the road and sped off.

A member of the family, Mr Segun Marcel who described the accident as unfortunate called on the police to launch a manhunt for the hit and run bullion van and other officials involved in the dastardly act.

Addressing the protesters, the chief of staff to the Deji of akure, prince Toyin Aladetoyinbo called on the youths not to take laws into their hands as the monarch had called for the management of all the banks in akure and the police in order to get to the root of the matter.

The police public relations officer,PPRO ondo state, Mr Femi Joseph said he was yet to be briefed about the accident.
