Ondo Water Corporation Workers Allege Commissioner Of Negligence

…Ondo Residents to suffer Water scarcity in dry season

Workers of the Ondo state water corporation have accused the commissioner for water resources, Mrs Yetunde Adeyanju of negligence,an act that has drastically affected the productivity of the ministry.

They also raised alarm that residents of Ondo state may face more hard time getting portable water in the next dry season as “at present, there is no where in the state that are getting portable water supply from Ondo State Water Corporation in the past three years, to the extent that the people of the state had been asking whether there is still Ondo State water corporation.”

Companies( SSASCGOC) and made available to ROVING REPORTERS alleged that Mrs Adeyanju has abandoned her duty as a commisioner.

“All the water supply schemes across the state were seemed to have been abandoned as some of them were covered with bushes.

We also observed that sale points at Akure Area Office of the Corporation, Ukere and some other places had stopped three months ago on the order of the newly appointed Commissioner for water resources, Hon Mrs Yetunde Adeyanju.

The staff of the Corporation Corporation who spoke in confidence said the problem may remain till 2023 when the interventions of French Development Agency (AFD) and African Development Bank (AFDB) through the loans to complete Owena Multipurpose Dam might have been achieved.”

Comrade Ola Amure who thanked governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for creating Ministry of Water Resources, Public Sanitation & Hygiene appealed to the commissioner to seat tight and work with them.

He lamented that the commissioner had not been accessible to workers of the Corporation and also devoted all her energy to the other agencies that formed the Ministry.
