Ondo state government has ordered sharp sand dealers in the state to revert their price back to 25 thousand naira or leave the state.
Speaking to journalists in Akure the state capital, the senior special assistant to the governor on special duties, Dr Doyin odebowale said the state government can no longer tolerate the manner with which sharp sand dealers take advantage of the people to exploit them.
According to him, the sand dealers have no justifiable reasons to increase the price of sand from 25 to 60 thousand naira when the price of the same trip of sharp sand is sold at 25 thousand naira or less in Ekiti state.
He lamented that the inhuman activities of sharp sand dealers in the state have affected the job of several bricklayers and builders who rely on the materials to do their jobs.
Efforts are on by the State govermet to checkmate other unions to ensure that their activities do not end up exploiting the masses who are daily struggling to make ends meet.
