The National independent Electoral Commission, INEC, on Thursday said all non sensitive materials that will be used for the Ondo State governorship election have arrived the state.
The governorship election is holding on Saturday 10th of October ,2020 in the state.
INEC’s Commissioner in charge of voter education, Mr Festus Okoye stated this on POLITICAL PODIUM, on Radio Nigeria Positive Fm, Akure.
Speaking on the electoral body’s preparedness, Okoye said the non sensitive materials had also been put in batches and delivered to local governments and wards with a view to deploying them to polling units for the election.
The Inec National commissioner said the commission had also commenced the configuration of smart card reader machines that would be used for the governorship poll.
He gave an assurance that INEC would ensure adequate protection of all its staff and the over seventeen thousand adhoc staff scheduled for the poll.
Mr Okoye however added that the peaceful conduct of political gladiators in Ondo state indicated that the October 10 governorship poll would be credible, fair and acceptable to all.
