Tragedy struck at Ise- Isua axis in Akoko area of Ondo state on Monday as unknown gunmen shot dead an Inspector of police attached to Isua divisional police office.
ROVING REPORTERS gathered that another police Sergeant who accompanied the late Inspector narrowly escaped death.
It was gathered that the gunmen ambushed the policemen along Ise-Akoko -Isua road, border towns to Kogi and Edo states.
They were said to be on an official assignment of a surveillance to prevent kidnapping and armed robbery on the route, before the incident occurred.
