Following attacks South Africa owned companies in Nigeria, the acting governor of Ondo state,Agboola Ajayi has ordered the deployment of security agents to ShopRite and MTN offices in Akure, the capital city of the State.
The acting governor gave the order in a statement in Akure following the retaliatory attack on those facilities in some parts of the country over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
Agboola however pleaded with Nigerians to stop attacking ShopRite and MTN facilities sited in Nigeria.
The acting governor who said attacking such facilities would be a double tragedy for Nigerians pointed out that two wrongs cannot make a right hence Nigerians should not take laws into their own hands.
Meanwhile,MTN offices and Shoprite did not open on Wednesday in Akure for fear of being attacked by hoodlums.
