NPFL: Sunshine Stars’ Coach blames ODSFA For Team’s Poor Performance

Sunshine Stars Technical Adviser, Kabiru Dogo has pointed accusing fingers to the Ondo state Football Agency,ODSFA as being responsible for the problems facing the team.

Dogo urged the supporters to look more than the players and the technical crew,saying the problems facing his team were more than what the eyes could imagine.

The technical adviser said this on Sunday in the state capital after his team had drawn visiting Warri Wolves 1-1 in the match day 2 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Ondo Sports Complex, Akure.

Charles Upele had put Warri Wolves ahead in the 29th minute through a bullet header from a corner before Sunshine Stars forward, Israel Abia calmly slot home to the bottom corner from the edge of the box to restore parity .

However,all efforts by the home team to ensure maximum three points were not successful.

In his post match news conference,when asked why there was no new signings on the pitch of play, he responded that the management of the team were in the best position to answer the question.

Dogo said that with the performance of his team in preseason, he is of the opinion that his team had the qualities to perform better.

“Anybody that is here today will know that in spite of that, we managed to play, just that unfortunately, the result didn’t speak of the performance of the two teams.

“We signed some new players, unfortunately there are some problem logistically, the management will tell you better on that, for now, this is what I have on the ground.

“Anybody that follows the team will know that even in the preseason we did well and the problem of Sunshine is more than what we could see.

“The people of Ondo State should look more inward for this team and They should know that that this team belong to all Ondo State people, am just appealing,” he said.

Dogo also urged the organisers of the league to follow the example of Morocco and try to introduce Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to aid refree decisions.

Meanwhile ,Coach of Warri Wolves, Evans Ogenyi, commended the performance of his boys for having a decent game and picking a point from home.

“We had a decent game against Sunshine Stars, no team is push over in NPFL. Any game in the premier league can go either side. I played draw at home too in the match day one.

“I told my boys that the only way we can redeem ourselves is to come here to get a good result.
