The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA ) in Oyo state, has described as unfortunate the neglect and non involvement of the association by governor Seyi Makinde in the fight against Covid 19 in the state.
The chairman of NMA in Oyo state ,Dr. Akin Sodipo stated this on Wednesday while featuring on Sunrise daily on Channels television .
Dr Sodipo who berated the state government for not involving the association to contribute its quota to the fight against Covid19 also expressed disappointment on the attitudes of some of its members working under Makinde’s administration.
He said the commissioner for health who is a medical doctor and so many other permanent secretaries in the government that are also medical doctors have failed to recognize NMA that they belonged to.
Sodipo also questioned effectiveness of the curfew imposed by governor Makinde in the state at night ,saying many residents were still going about their normal business activities despite the number of confirmed cases of the pandemic in the state.
