Need For Adequate Funding, Community Policing In Combing Crime Can Not Be Over Stressed… Adeleye
The commander, Ondo state security network codenamed ‘Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye has identified inadequate funding and equipment as some of the factors limiting the corps.
The Amotekun boss disclosed this on Tuesday in an interactive session with the Ondo state Online Media Practitioners at the Corps Command headquarters, Alagbaka Akure, the Ondo state capital.
According to him, Adequate Funding and equipment are factors that drive the security sector towards safeguarding lives and property of the people.
He added that adapting modern technology and intelligence will go along way in combating crimes and securing the border towns where some of the kidnappers and bandits use as their hideouts.
Adeleye used the interactive forum to reel out some of the achievements of the corps especially in the areas of arrest of suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and resolving farmers and herders crisis.
He also stressed the need to give priority attention to state/community policing as it is the best solution to combat crimes and ensure grassroot security.
The Amotekun boss attributed the successes so far recorded by the corps to the support of the state government,the cooperation of Residents and the synergy with other security agencies in the state.
