Missing boy: Prophet Sotitobire heads for appeal court over judgment

The founder of Sotitobire miracle center on Tuesday vowed to challenge the judgment of the Ondo state high court which sentenced him to life imprisonment over the missing one year old boy ,Gold Kolawole.

Justice Olusegun Odusola of the Ondo state High Court in Akure has sentenced the Founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and 5 others to life imprisonment over the disappearance of one year old gold kolawole in the church last year.

Justice Odusola convicted the defendants having found them guilty of the two count charge of kidnapping and aiding and abetting to kidnap based on the circumstancial evidence presented by the prosecution.

He also condemned in strong terms the complicity, compromise, and lackadaisical attitude of the Ondo state police command after Gold got missing which also led the burning of Sotitobire Church.

According to the trial judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola of the Ondo State High Court, the accused persons were convicted based on the circumstancial evidence presented by the prosecution.

During the five hours judgment, Justice Odusola who condemned in strong terms the complicity, connivance and compromise of the Ondo State Police Command in the whole saga stated that the lackadaisical attitude of Prophet Alfa was a pointer to his involvement in the disappearance of the missing child, Gold Kolawole from his church in November last year.

Speaking with Roving Reporters, One of the Counsels to Prophet Babatunde Alfa, Akinyemi Omoware said “ we are heading to the court of appeal without delay.

Judgment is either for or against. Whoever loses has the right of appeal and after consultation with our clients ,we took appropriate steps. I already have their nod that we should appeal the judgment and we have started steps .”
