The Imo state police command on Monday said the former governor of the state and a serving senator, Rochas Okorocha will be prosecuted if investigation proves that he is guilty in the Sunday’s fracas over the sealing of Royal Spring Palm Estate.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu stated this while featuring on Channels TV.

Okorocha was accused of trying to forcefully unseal his wife’s hotel which was sealed by the Imo State Government.
A photo being circulated on WhatsApp showed the former governor sitting along a corridor of a building that looks like a police station.
Mr Okorocha’s aide, Ebere Nzewuji, confirmed to newsmen Sunday evening that the former governor has been arrested and is detained at the police headquarters in Owerri.
“He has been arrested by the police on the orders of the governor,” Mr Nzewuji said.
“The police are telling him that he is under arrest. It is so clear now that he is being arrested. And he is being detained.”
Mr Okorocha, a serving senator, is accused of forcefully unsealing his wife’s hotel, Royal Spring Palm Hotel, Owerri, which was sealed two days ago by the commissioner for lands and physical planning on behalf of the Imo State Government.
The commissioner said the hotel was built, without permission, on government land.
But Mr Okorocha’s aide, Mr Nzewuji, denied that the senator tried to unseal the property.
“When he arrived at the premises, they were confronted with thugs who had guns and machetes, and they were attacking him and his entourage.”
Also speaking on the national television on Monday, Okorocha said he visited the hotel to see what happened and by the time he got the the place ,some thugs had been waiting for him.
He “ They started molesting ,cutting my boys ,shooting but the police were there too and the police did nothing , my boys had to rescue me and locked me inside a room. ”
Reacting , the PPRO in Imo state,
Orlando Ikeokwu said the police would investigate and if found that Okorocha actually unsealed the hotel, he would be charged to court.
He however claimed Okorocha was not arrested rather was rescued from being hurt.
Ikeokwu said “It was a very tensed situation and the command had to ensure that normalcy returned and we took distinguished senator Rochas Okorocha out of the premises for two reasons ; one, for his personal safety because we don’t want anything to happen to him.”
Secondly, we invited him to come and tell us what his roles were as regards to the allegation of unsealing the hotel.
The state government had lodged a complaint over that and he also had made some complaints that we are looking into and follow up to know the authenticity of all he has said, because we won’t base our investigation on what he said.
When you get to the scene, you can see the vehicles that he went there with broken so we want to find out who did those things. ”
