I remain Iyaloja-General of Ondo State – Madam do good

An Ondo state business mogul, Mrs Ruth Olowookere has dismissed the claim of one Mrs. Iwalola Akinfemiwa to the title, Iyaloja-General, saying she(Olowokere) remains the authentic and legal Iyaloja-General of Ondo State.

Mrs.Olowookere, popularly known as Madam Do Good, had dragged Mrs. Akinfemiwa to court over the title and won the case in court in February 2019.

Mrs. Olowookere had said she’s the National President Iyaloja-General of Ondo State chapter of National Traders And Market Leaders Council of Nigeria, which is also known as Association of Traders and Market Leaders of Nigeria.

According to the verdict handed down by Justice Olabode Adegbehingbe on February 19, 2019, Mrs. Akinfemiwa and five other defendants were restrained by an order of court of jurisdiction from, among others, causing trouble.

That the interference of the defendants in the activities of Ondo State chapter of the Association of the parties is not in conformity with the norms of the Association.

The court then dismissed the counterclaim of the defendants.

A press statement by the counsel to Mrs. Akinfemiwa and other defendants , Mr Femi Emodamori on Tuesday said that they dumped the Association led by Mrs. Olowookere and registered the Association of Iyaloja and Iyalaje of Nigeria with the Federal Government’s Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Mrs. Akinfemiwa also adopted the Iyaloja-General title as the leader of newly registered Association.

The statements red that “Our clients state that Chief (Mrs.) Iwalola Akinfemiwa is the bona fide Iyaloja-General and leader of their Association in Ondo State.”

However, Mrs Olowookere in an interview said that she was relying on the February 19, 2019 judgement which upheld her as the authentic National President Iyaloja-General of Ondo State chapter of National Traders And Market Leaders Council of Nigeria, which is also known as Association of Traders and Market Leaders of Nigeria.

She warned Akinfemiwa to stop parading herself with the title.
