How Secondary school students donated funds against COVID19 in Ondo –Akeredolu

Government Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Monday said the Ondo state government will soon make public the names of those that have contributed money and other items to support the fight against coronavirus in the state.

Akeredolu however expressed surprise that little children ,including  secondary school students also made contributions against the pandemic.

The governor disclosed this while briefing news men in Akure to give update about the cases recorded in Ondo state.

Akeredolu said “We have the names of people that have given money and supported the state and what you (journalists) have here are those who came directly to us here in Ondo state.

But so many other people have paid directly into the bank accounts. At the next briefing, we will be in position to give you (journalists ) actual figure and the names of those who have contributed thus far.

We will even make a release of that maybe tomorrow or a day after so that everybody can know.

The committee we set up for the fund allocation ,their mandate is also to administer that fund ,so we want to leave them to to do their job accordingly. They have asked us for our needs and the list has been submitted to them.

To our surprise, at least we have seen three  students of secondary schools that have donated one thousand naira and two thousand naira to this fund. They wrote a letter to that effect…. every little dot of water makes a mighty ocean. So we are waiting for the donations from our journalists. ”
