NLC, Edo State Council, CSO Join Nationwide Protest

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Edo State Council on Tuesday, joined counterparts across the country for a nationwide peaceful protest against hunger.
Members of the Civil Society join the protest march led ny the Edo State chairman of the NLC, Chief Odion Olaye.
Members of the various affiliate bodies of the NLC in Edo State and Civil Society groups converged on the National Museum ground where they gather for the protest march.
The protesting workers led by the NLC Chairman, Chief Odion Olaye and other leaders of the Council marched round through Kings Square, Sapele Road, with a stop over at the State Secretariat building, where Chief Olaye addressed workers before proceeding to government house.
Addressing the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Chief Olaye and other labour leaders and civil society groups said they were protesting because of hunger in the country and called on President Tinubu to intervene to bring prices of items down.
Receiving the protesting workers, Governor Godwin Obaseki represented by the State Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare government is in power for the welfare of the people, adding that they recently engaged market women and traders to address high coat of food items.
The nationwide protest continues on Wednesday
