Guv’ship poll : PDP will reclaim Ondo – Abia D.gov

The deputy governor of Abia state ,UdeOko Chukwu on Saturday boasted that the People Democratic Party,PDP will reclaim its mandate from governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state come October governorship election.

Oko Chukwu stated this in Akure while addressing newsmen shortly after the party’s ward congress which was held to elect party leaders at the ward level across the state.

The Abia deputy governor who is also the Chairman PDP congress committee for Ondo state said with all indications and political realities on ground in the state, PDP was set to take back what was taken away from it in 2016 by ruling APC.

Oko Chukwu said “ In the last general election, PDP won this state and have two senators out of the three senators in Ondo state. That by indication will tell you that Ondo state is PDP state.

Our party members are all united and working very hard to ensure that we take back what belongs to us.

All our members in PDP are in high spirit. Every PDP member in Ondo state is doing his best to ensure that we claim Ondo state and i must also tell you that our party right from the national down to the local government is very very set and by God’s grace ,during the election for governorship ,PDP will surely take back the state. ”

He expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the party’s ward congress in Ondo state.

The deputy governor said “I must tell you that i am impressed with what i am seeing. You will discover that there is unity of purpose within the party. Virtually ,in more than 95 percent of all the wards, what we had was consensus.

Everybody agreed to nominate particular individual who is going to serve them either as the chairman ,secretary and what have you. The congress has been rancour- free ,no molestation, no fighting, no shooting and everything has happened according to plans. ”

In a remark, the outgoing Ondo State PDP , Chairman , Chief Clement Faboyede commended the Congress committee and party Faithful for being law abiding to ensure a hitch free exercise .

Faboyede announced that a screening and advisory Committee headed by Senator Bode Olajumoke would trim down its 17 governorship aspirants ahead of October 10, 2020 governorship election in the state.
