A total of 905 widows in ondo state have registered in the newly unveiled website introduced by the wife of the state governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu in just two days NM.
Mrs Akeredolu on Sunday announced on the media that the office of the first lady would be unveiling the website to enhance the life of widows in the state.
She said available data of widows enable the state government reach and capture them in its policies and programmes.
She stressed that through data uploaded on the website, the government would have access to information about the widows for further processing, research and evaluation.
Our correspondent who has been following the site gathered that as at Tuesday morning, 905 widows have registered on the website.
Out of the number,573 widows are self employed while 262 unemployed as 28 pensioners and 23 widows are employed.

Meanwhile, Mrs Akeredolu has given assurance that all widows would be captured in the new data regardless of their educational background.
Answering questions on her social media page ,Akeredolu said“ Fowoso members are doing that already, assisting in filling the forms (of illiterate widows) before uploading online. This approach will ensure that no widow is left out. We are on the right track.
She replied another follower saying “Of course FOWOSO full ground. They are collecting data with forms in all the nooks and crannies of the state given that not everybody has access to internet. My office takes care of uploading on the internet.
With this arrangement, no widow is left out. I’m glad you and probably others are begining to appreciate FOWOSO. It is an amazing and formidable platform which can be deployed to improve on the socioeconomic status of Ondo women. ”
