As Muslim faithful mark Eld El-Maulud,a former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Ondo State, Engr Gboye Adegbenro (FNSE) wants Nigerians to imbibe good teaching of Holy Prophet Muhammed,.
The Commissioner made the call in Akure in a Press Statement on the occasion of the Eld-el-Maulud celebration marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SWA).
The former Commissioner tasked Nigerians to continue to be tolerant and live in peace with one another, irrespective of religious, cultural and ethnic differences.
“I also use this occasion of Eld El-Maulud to advise Islam adherents to emulate the virtues of the Holy Prophet who preached peaceful coexistence, tolerance among neighbours and perseverance in the face of tribulations.
“Nigerians must revive the teachings of Prophet Muhammed of preaching peace wherever they find ourselves in the country in order to have a great nation free of insecurity.
“Muslims must exemplify some the great virtues of the Prophet with the fear of Allah and they should behave in the most acceptable and religious manner to their fellow human being.”
Adegbenro also enjoined Muslims to use the Maulud period to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country, while they should also pray fervently for those piloting the affairs of the nation and the State to do right for the citizens.
