Cases of coronavirus in Ondo state has continued to increase sharply as ten new cases were confirmed on Tuesday bringing to 40, the number of infection within six days.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in its daily update on covid19 announced four hundred and ninety new cases in sixteen states in the last twenty four hours.
In the breakdown, Lagos is having the highest number one hundred and forty two, the FCT is next having recorded ninety new cases among other states.
Other states with news infections are Bayelsa 54, Rivers-39, Delta-37, Oyo-30, Kaduna-26, Imo-23, Enugu-19, Kwara-17, Gombe-11, Bauchi-8, Ogun-7, Borno-6 and, Benue-1
Th NCDC also declared that with the latest infections, positive cases of covid19 in Nigeria has hit seventeen thousand, one hundred and forty eight.
Out of this number, five thousand six hundred and twenty three cases have been treated and discharged while four hundred and fifty five died.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akereolu on Monday expressed worry over the daily increase in COVID-19 cases in the state after recording thirty infections in a week.
