Traditional rulers in Ondo State, under the aegis of “De 130 Krown Obas”, on Wednesday expressed empathy with governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu over his announcement that he contracted covid pandemic.
The traditional rulers who spoke through their President and Owa-Ale of Ikare-Akoko, Oba Kolapo Adegbite-Adedoyin, made the call in a Press Statement made available to newsmen in Akure.
The monarchs said “We thank God for the quick discovery that the governor is assymptomatic and commend him for being in the forefront of the war against the virus since the index case was discovered in the state.
“We pray fervently for the quickest and full recovery of our dear Arakunrin Akeredolu. We also seek abundant protection of God for the Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu, his family and his cabinet members at this trying period.
“The royal fathers’ prayers also go to all Nigerians who are battling with COVID-19 pandemic for God to heal them.
However, the number of persons that have successfully recovered from the virus in the country gives us the hope that Arakunrin Akeredolu will recover from the virus soonest.
The Monarchs who enjoined the people of the state and Nigerians at large to obey various precautionary measures against deadly coronavirus pandemic, pleaded with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Presidential Committee on COVID-19 to put in place necessary preventive measures before reopening schools nationwide.
Once more, while wishing our dear Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu full recovery, the Royal fathers also urge the people of the state to sustain their prayers and support for the Governor at this trying period.
