The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has described as mischievous, claims by the opposition party, PDP, that it plans to spend the state resources on the governorship election in Kogi state.
A statement on Saturday by Alex Kalejaye, State Publicity Secretary of APC said “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has been drawn to the reaction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to our noble intention to identify with our brethren in Kogi State.
The opposition party alleges that the state’s APC is planning to fund the re-election bid of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State. This, without any ambiguity, is a mischievous claim.
For the records, the state chapter plans to set up a committee that has a clear assignment: To boost the morale of our party members in Kogi State.
It is ridiculous for any individual or a political party, especially one that has national colouration, to allege that Ondo State chapter would build a war chest for an election holding in Kogi State, or anywhere else for that matter.
Without dispute, the APC-led government in the State harbours no space for financial recklessness.
This has drawn applause from objective and sincere observers and resulted in maximising benefits of levies and taxes for the welfare of the people.
A government that dwells in the realm of frivolity would not contemplate the on-going transformation, and industrialization in Ore.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has repeatedly bragged about what he would do to support the PDP in Ondo. We perceive same as normal political arrogance.
Contrary to the PDP’s allegation that the APC-led government has destroyed the health sector, the party wishes to declare with all sense of modesty that the current administration has so far employed about 500 health workers to ensure quality health services.
The government of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has expended billions of Naira on several medical equipment; imported for the wellbeing of our people.
Besides, the government has upgraded and expanded additional five General Hospitals to boost healthcare delivery in our dear state.
The party urges the discerning people of Ondo State to mock the unimpressive attempt of the PDP, and keep faith with a government that is going the extra mile to right the wrongs of decades.”
