Angry Women Barricade Akure Major Road Over Blockage Of Median Strip

Commercial activities and vehicular movement were Friday evening paralysed along oba adesida road , Akure as market women barricaded the road for hours.

ROVING REPORTERS reports that the irate market women were protesting plans by the state government to block all road median around oja oba.

The women in their hundreds sat on the main road in front of Erekesan market making it difficult for motorists to pass.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria ,the women lamented plans by the government to block the routes of crossing the road claiming it would have adverse effect on their business.

According to them, many of the market women are very old and will find it difficult climbing the pedestrian bridge at Oja oba

They then called on governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to direct govt officials to stop blocking the median in consideration of those with health challenge.
