The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Ondo State has set specific targets for Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to meet as he began his second term in office.
Governor Akeredolu was sworn in for another four years in office last week Wednesday but he is yet to make any appointment.
The CNPP urged Governor Akeredolu to embark on projects that would create employment to registered contractors at the state Ministry of Works.
State Chairman of the CNPP, Dr. Ajibola Falaiye, who spoke at a press briefing in Akure, urged the Ondo Governor to reduce money paid at the State Water Corporation or outrightly cancel the levy.
Dr. Falaiye said it was unfair for Governor Akeredolu to discontinue people oriented programme like the free shuttle buses for pupils and the free health services previously enjoyed by the people especially at the Mother and Child hospitals.
Falaiye called for payment of WAEC or NECO examination fees as a gesture of dividends of democracy to secondary school leavers.
He further urged Akeredolu to look for ways to pay civil servants their full monthly entitlements to forstall corruption in the civil service.
According to him, “The Obas/Olus should be given a unique role in all the local government. This will help in security.
“We call on Governor Akeredolu to resuscitate the Boards and Parastatals to make the administration democratic in outlook.”
