Akeredolu Commends NYSC For Grooming Corps Members

Governor Oluwarotimi Akerdolu of Ondo State has commended the National Youth Service Corps for ensuring proper grooming and monitoring of corps members during the orientation exercise as well as preparing them for the tasks ahead.

Mr Akeredolu, in his address at the Terminal Parade of Batch ‘B’ (STREAM II) orientation course on Monday in Ikare Akoko, said the NYSC had instilled patriotism, integrity, hard work and unity amongst corps members during the orientation exercise.

The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports,Mr Dotun Owanikin stressed the importance of the three weeks orientation course to the nation’s unity.

He said the orientation was primarily meant to equip corps members with the operations of the scheme.

“I congratulate you all on the successful completion of the first phase of one year mandatory service of your fatherland.

“I am convinced that the three weeks orientation has prepared you well ahead of challenges you might face in the course of your service to the nation and Ondo State in particular.

” The NYSC,in its struggle to ensure national development and cohesion, has instilled the values of patriotism, integrity,hard work, unity amongst corps members during the orientation exercise.

“The three weeks orientation programme that you might have actively participated in is a level playing ground for all of you to contribute meaningful to overall development of this great country as you go to your various places of primary assignment,” he said.

Akeredolu however enjoined the corps members to cultivate a healthy relationship with their host communities, stressing the need to integrate and appreciate the culture and traditions of the people.
