Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has yielded to the demands of the legislative arm of Ondo government by adding comprehensive names of supervisory councillors to the list of local government caretaker chairmen for screening.
To this end,the Ondo State house of assembly has commenced screening of would be caretaker chairmen and supervisory councillors in the council areas of the state.
The development followed recent rejection of nominees contained in a letter requesting extension of tenure for the caretaker committees by Governor Akeredolu.
The lawmakers at a plenary presided over by the speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun rejected the request on the ground that the list did not contain names of supervisory councillors.
The screening committee, led by the speaker had received a comprehensive list of the caretaker committees and embarked on the screening exercise.
The exercise was being done alphabetically according to local government areas devoid of media coverage.
