Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has appointed Mr. Ojo Oyewamide, the Chairman, Ondo State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the Correspondent of the Daily Independent newspaper as his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.
In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary,Mr. Segun Ajiboye and made available to journalists on Wednesday in Akure,Akeredolu also approved Mr. Dapo Aruwajoye as his Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast Communications.
Akeredolu noted that the appointment was aimed at strengthening his media team.
Both appointments according to Ajiboye are with immediate effect.
The two appointees are graduates of English Studies of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Oyewamide started his career as a Journalist with the then Comet Newspaper.
He also had a brief stint with National Mirror before joining Daily Independent Newspaper as the Ondo State Correspondent before his appointment.
He is the current chairman of the Correspondents Chapel, State Council of the NUJ.
Aruwajoye was Press Secretary (Electronics) to Governor Akeredolu.
He had worked in Channels Television and Continental TV before joining the governor’s media team.
Governor Akeredolu congratulated the new appointees and charged them to discharge their duties diligently
