Don't mount Pressure on my Commissioners – Akeredolu tells Ondo People

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has urged the people of Ondo state not to put unnecessary pressure on all his commissioners and other aides, capable of distracting them while serving in the present administration.

Akeredolu made the call on Monday at the swearing in ceremony of four commissioners in Akure ,the Ondo state capital.

The commissioners were Mr Wale Akinterinwa, Mr Ojogo Kimikanboh Donald, Sir Charles Titiloye
and Engr. Aminu Raimi Olayiwola.

The commissioners have been deployed to Finance ,Information, Justice and works respectively.

Our correspondent reports that Akeredolu was referring to friends, family members , and other associates who will be expecting financial gains and other opportunities from those appointed to serve under him.

In an address, Akeredolu said “We shall be demanding extreme diligence. We will not condone mischief and all acts which mock decency. We will sanction disloyalty with dispatch.

It is in the light of this that we admonish the commissioners to avoid all distractions. They should remain focused on the collective goal set by this administration for maximum positive impact.

While we congratulate members of their families on this important occasion, for producing worthy ambassadors, they must be advised to assist these government officials to concentrate on the task ahead.

Friends and associates too must desist from mounting pressures capable of distracting them. The purpose for which they have been called upon to serve must be achieved.”

Akeredolu further stressed that “Don’t mount pressures on these commissioners and even if you will mount pressures ,mount them on finance and works (ministries).

I have been the attorney general before ,there is nothing (money) in the ministry of Justice. I don’t know if there is something there now ,but when I was there ,there was nothing in that ministry.

And that of information, I don’t know what they have to give the people rather than to give them information.

All of us should rather support them all because they need us at this time. They need your prayers so that this journey that you are starting with us ,they will be able to finish with us.”
