Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), have arrested eight suspected internet fraudsters in Ondo state.
The internet fraudsters were arrested at their hotel hideout in Housing Estate, Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government area of the State.
It was gathered from a reliable source that EFCC operatives stormed Akure from the Ibadan Zonal Office and apprehended the suspects in their hotel at about 6pm over the weekend.
The EFCC men were said to have acted on intelligent report linking the suspects to alleged fraudulent activities, ranging from scams on numerous dating sites, obtaining money by false pretense and others.
Three exotic cars, mobile phones and laptops alongside several incriminating documents were recovered from the suspects.
The suspects; Olasunkanmi Daramola, Oluwaseyi Akinluyi, Abiola Mutiu, Adebanjo Adegoke and Keyinde Idowu, Sunday Morufu, Adebayo Odewunmi and Ridwan Tobiloba.
According to the men, the suspects would be prosecuted as soon as investigations are concluded.
