Ondo state governor , Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has described the running mate of ZLP in the last governorship election in 2020, Engr. Gboye Adegbenro FNSE as an exemplary person and model in Nigeria’s politics.
The Governor made this remark during a dinner party held in Akure as part of activities ushering his second term in office , tagged : Aketi Inauguration Golf tournament.
Adegbenro , a former commissioner for works, was the deputy governorship candidate to Agboola Ajayi of the ZLP.
Akeredolu said ” Let me say it here that Gboye Adegbenro is an exemplary politician. Just immediately after I was declared the winner of the election, Gboye was one of the first callers to congratulate me.
He also called my deputy, he is a good young man with a good heart .
This is an attribute of a good sportsman and I believe that he copied that from being a golfer . I therefore advised everyone here to be golfers. “
Engr. Adegbenro is currently the Captain of Smokin Hill golf course at Ilara mokin, in Ondo state.
The event was witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Chief of staff to the Governor, Chief Gbenga Ale , former Chairman of Nigerian Sports Commission, Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman Aketi Inauguration Golf tournament, Rear Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade Rtd and many notable Nigerians.
