Gunmen kidnap three travelers in Ondo

*as residents raise alarm over insecurity

Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped three Persons who were travellers in Ikakumo Ondo state ,a border town with Edo state.

Our correspondent reports that an okada rider who ran into the scene was beaten to stupor by the suspects.

The okada rider ( name withheld ) fainted and was later resuscitated before recounting the incident to the residents.

In a Reaction, the Ikare police area commander , Assistant commisioner of police Razak Rauf confirmed the incident.

Rauf gave an assurance that police had commenced investigation on the case.

Meanwhile , residents of Akoko have expressed concern over alleged attitude of police since the Endsars protest .

The residents observed that police have abandoned their regular patrols especially on flash points on Akoko roads where armed robberies and abduction were rampant.

The regent of Akunu Akoko princess Tolani orogun reaffirmed the earlier call for a military post in the area which shared boundary with kogi and Edo state with a large forest used as hideout by the criminals.

A situation which made many farmers in Akunu, Ikakumo and Auga to desert their farms for fear of being kidnapped.
