Ondo LG Poll: Non APC Councillors who Won must be declared –Akeredolu

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Monday urged the Ondo State independent electoral commission ODIEC to declare councillorship
candidates who won the local government election in Ondo state regardless of their political parties.

Akeredolu stated this on Monday in akure at the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected chairmen just as the ODIEC is to conduct another election for the canceled councillorship positions in the just concluded local government polls.

Akeredolu said there would be no room for Arrogance or violence in the state.

Akeredolu urged the new Council bosses to Improve on the local Economy for the benefits of those in the grassroots and the entire state.

Addressing newsmen the ODIEC chairman professor ,Yomi Dinakin said cases of electoral violence,snatching of ballot boxes and others were recorded in some wards in Akure south local government which compelled the commission to cancel the elections.

Professor Dinakin stated that a new date would be announced soon but affirmed the the victory of all progressive congress in all the 18 local government chairmanship seats in the state.

The eighteen local government chairmen and their vice have since received their certificates of return and sworn in by the Ondo state governor ,Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
