Ahead Monday’s primary election of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo state,APC, party’s delegates from Akure South have vowed to vote former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly and leading governorship aspirant, Chief Olayide Adelami, as the party’s candidate.
This followed the support of former Secretary to the Ondo State government, Ifedayo Abegunde, who pledged his total support and delegates in 7 out of the 11wards in the state capital, which he facilliated their emergence during the last Congress.
The Delegates mostly ward and local government executives and other statutory officers had remained loyal to Abegunde even after he parted ways with Akeredolu.
Abegunde while playing host to Chief Adelami at his Alagbaka residence alongside the delegates, said the choice of Adelami was made after due consultation with his followers and political associates across the state.

The former house of representatives member who earlier declared his support for Dr Segun Abraham after resigning as the SSG said the declaration for Abraham was an error greatly regretted.
Asides delivering all his delegates for Adelami, Abegunde also promised to rally his supporters across the state for the former National Assembly top bureaucrat.
Abena, as he is fondly called, added “I will ensure all my supporters and associates who are delegates across the state give you their votes on Monday as I believe you are the best choice for our dear state”.
Chief Adelami while thanking the former SSG and his teeming followers for their support promised to run an open and transparent government that will cater for the interest of every resident of Ondo state without neglecting party members who gave him the mandate to represent them.

Spokesperson to Chief Adelami, Rahaman Yusuf, who confirmed the top level meeting said Adelami has got massive endorsements of party leaders and delegates across the state with a noiseless campaign.
“Understanding the sobriety of present times in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, my principal is running a purposeful and noiseless pre-primary campaign that has yielded unprecedented results.
“We have got massive endorsement across the state right from Owo, the hometown of my principal and readiness of some aspirants to work with us.
“This is indeed God’s mandate that will be fully made manifest on Monday”.
