The Chairman APC Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni has stated that their mandate does not include the dissolution of state executive committees of the party nationwide.
Buni who is also the Yobe State Governor disclosed this while receiving nomination forms from an APC aspirant for the Ondo 2020 governorship election at Party National Secretariat, Abuja.
APC Caretaker Chairman speaking through the Party’s Organizing Secretary, Prof Attahiru said the committee lacks the power to dissolve State Executive by virtues of Party’s Constitution, noting their core mandate is to conduct National Convention.
The aspirant, Olusola Oke, SAN had requested that the Ondo State chapter of the APC be disproved alleging lopsidedness.
But responding to Oke’s claim that Ondo State Chapter was polarized into two, Prof Attahiru said they can only mediate to settle grievances rather than outright dissolution.
He hinted that The Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee has set up reconciliation teams to meet Stakeholders in Ondo and Rivers States Chapter.
Buni however promised Oke and other aspirants that the committee would be guided by the principles of fairness, justice and transparency in handling the forthcoming APC Primary in Ondo State.
