Ondo govt clears air over Federal, state curfews

The Ondo state government says the 7pm to 7am curfew imposed on the state is still in force, Radio Nigeria reports.

The federal government had announced an 8pm to 6am curfew as part of the gradual easing of the partial lockdown nationwide.

The commissioner for information, Mr Donald Ojogo explained that though the federal government’s directive was meant to be effected nationwide, states still had the freedom to design their homegrown measures suitable for their localities.

He said “ We are still sustaining our 7pm to 7am curfew period ”

Ojogo therefore urged the people not to flout the government’s 7pm to 7am curfew put in place to check the spread of coronavirus in the state reminding them of the need to collectively fight the pandemic.

Ondo state currently has thirteen cases of covid19 out of which eleven were active and two patients discharged.
