..why has he (Agboola Ajayi) not talked and cleared the airs over the matter ?
The Chief Whip of the Ondo state House of Assembly, Olayemi Adeyemi-Adeshina has called on the state deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi to speak out and clear the air over series of unconfirmed rumours flying round the state that he is having political dispute with governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Adeyemi said the whole issue may be escalated and out of hand if Agboola kept silent.
Adeyemi stated this in Akure on Wednesday while addressing online journalists in Ondo state.
According to the chief whip, Agboola’s strengths is now becoming his weakness.
He said “There might be frictions within the offices and it is bound to happen at any point in time. As at three weeks ago, we were at Imo state where the mother of the governor’s wife was being buried and the deputy governor was with them.
Two weeks ago, when Amotekun bill was signed ,the governor, the deputy governor were there with the speaker and myself. Before now, this ridging of the misunderstanding has been on in the last two years.
But one thing I have observed with the deputy governor is that he has a major strength before and that same strength happens to be his weakness now. Before now, he doesn’t talk. Whatever anyone says, he won’t respond and that’s a good strength which I love to emulate.
But as at now ,the same same thing is now his weakness if he doesn’t talk and clear the air. The deputy governor would have come out to deny those rumours linking him with the governor, because if not so, why has he not talked ?
He also said there was no plot to impeach the deputy governor over rumoured feud between him and Akeredolu.
Adeyemi said “ Before God and man,it is the people who enjoy so much in disintegration within the system. Some selfish individuals believe that hopefully,if they remove Agboola Ajayi, they can benefit to be the deputy governor.
As at today in the Ondo state house of assembly, there is no meeting or arrangements to impeach the deputy governor. ”
He however expressed confidence that Governor Akeredolu had performed well in the last three years to get reelection by the people of the state.
Adeyemi who represents Owo constituency-two in the state Assembly, said he was sure that the performance of Akeredolu would earn him second term in office despite internal wrangling in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeyemi also pointed out that the group of aggrieved leaders of the APC operating under Ondo APC Unity Forum would soon disintegrate because majority of the people both within and outside the party were fully in support of the governor due to his giant strides in road construction, provision of school infrastructure, water supply among others.
