EXCLUSIVE: Akeredolu holds emergency meeting with security heads over Ugbo crisis

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state on Wednesday held an emergency security council meeting over lingering crisis in Ugbo kingdom where one live was claimed and many others injured.

ROVING REPORTERS gathered that the meeting had in attendance heads of security agencies in the state including the commissioner of police,Undie Adie ,the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo and other stakeholders.

The deputy governor,Agboola Ajayi was also in attendance at the meeting meant to find lasting solution to the feud between the Olugbo of Igbo, Oba Frederick Akinruntan Obateru and the former Olugbo Prince Adebanjo Mafimisebi.

It was also gathered that at the meeting, the Governor was asked to order the immediate redeployment of police and other security agents allegedly being used by Oba Akinruntan to harass and assaul the people of Ugbo.

It was also learnt that other demands placed before Akeredolu from the other faction were that the Ugbo natives allegedly chased by Olugbo of Ugbo  be immediately returned and unhurt.

That the demolition of the palace of the former Olugbo of Ugbo, Prince Adebanjo Mafimisebi be treated for malicious damages and trespass against Oba Frederick Akinruntan.

That the suspected thugs who invaded Ode-Ugbo on 17th April to unleash mayhem be brought to book for murder of a young boy who died while chasing Akintokun Oluwaseun.

That the former Olugbo of Ugbo, Prince Adebanjo Mafimisebi be returned to ode-ugbo unhurt and accompanied by military personnel to be sponsored by the state government.

It was however not certain if the governor agreed to all the demands tabled before him against the Olugbo of Ugbo.

When contacted ,the Special Adviser to governor Akeredolu on Security Matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo confirmed the meeting with the governor but that he was not authorised to divulge the outcome of the meeting.

As of the time of filling this report, the commissioner for information and orientation, Donald Ojogo was yet to reply to the messages sent to him on the outcome of the meeting with Akeredolu over the matter.
