Owa Ale distributes relief materials to Ikare people amid lockdown

The President of Ondo State 130 Krown Obas and Owa-Ale of Ikare Akoko, Oba Kolapo Adegbite-Adedoyin has charged the privileged people to join political class to assist vulnerable people in Nigeria coronavirus and lockdown order bite harder on the people.

The monarch gave the charge in his Palace in Ikare Akoko while flagging off the distribution of relief materials donated by sons and daughters of Owa-Ale home and abroad to the less privileged in the town.

The palliatives materials include foodstuff such as rice, beans and other items worth millions of naira.

Addressing the beneficiaries who are widows, aged and other categories of Vulnerable people, Oba Adegbite-Adedoyin said the palliatives package by his children was part of steps of reducing suffering of the people in the area.

He appealed to the affluents not to leave humanitarian services at this critical COVID-19 emergency to only political office holders and other political class.

Owa-Ale who expressed delight that over the donation of the relief materials by his children, noted that they were not competing with politicians who were carrying out similar gesture, but to contribute their own quotas towards uplifting the downtrodden.

The Royal father therefore called on the people to strictly follow various precautionary measures put in place by government to stop further spread of the deadly Coronavirus ravaging all parts of the world.

Some of Ikare Akoko Community leaders who witnessed the event included; Olokoja of Okoja Ikare, High Chief Idowu Ogunye; the Olona of Okegbe Ikare, High Chief Rafiu Okunade; the Onikubof Iku Ikare, High Chief Bello; the Olowu of Okorun Ikare, High Chief Aderemi Olowu and Oba Egbira of Ikare among others.

Some of the community leaders expressed appreciation to Owa-Ale Princes and Princesses for the unprecedented gesture to vulnerable people in Ikareland, as beneficiaries were drawn from all parts of the town.
