Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has thrown jabs on a PDP candidate in 2016 governorship election ,Eyitayo Jegede over construction of road along Jegede’s residence in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Jegede who lost to Akeredolu in the election has also shown interest in contesting in the 2020 election in the state.
Akeredolu on Tuesday twitted to remind Jegede of his administration’s efforts to construct roads in his opposition area.

He said “Morning @TayoJegedeSAN. I hope you like the new road I built in your neighborhood totalling about 6km.
It was neglected for over 20 years. Now You’ll have less vehicle issues when you start your campaign fully.”

Reactions have however trailed Akeredolu’s comments with many expressing their surprise on such comments.
Agbomola Olawumi said “ It’s funny how things are in this state, I was behind your convoy yesterday when you were going for Òkè Ọgbà road commissioning, you passed the bad Agagu road to go and commission a new road.
What stops this government from doing that bad road… Inside this life..”
Akeredolu replies that “I know this road well. We would fix all roads if we had access to unlimited funds.
We have tried our best with our limited resources. We will nonetheless look into this road in the future. ”
