2020: Abraham warns aggrieved APC members against Akeredolu’s reelection

A governorship aspirant in the All Progressive Congress APC in Ondo state ,Dr Segun Abraham has charged members of the Unity forum within the party to be united and sincere if they truly want to replace governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the Party’s candidate in October election.

Segun Abraham who contested governorship primary election in 2016 and lost against Akeredolu gave the warning while addressing the Unity Forum,which comprises aggrieved members of the party in akure, the Ondo state capital.

He pointed out that if truly the forum was determined to oust Akeredolu from office over alleged highhandedness and anti party activities ,it was high time they spoke with one voice without allowing selfish interests to divide them.

Abraham said “ Except we are sincere with ourselves,if not, Aketi( Akeredolu) will be reelected. If we are not sincere and truthful, it will be difficult to remove him.

We can not do this alone as a forum, if we want the people in Abuja support us, we need to uphold unity and truth as well as showing high level of our seriousness.

If we eventually get good government, all members of APC will benefit and we must have that in mind.

He also bared his mind on the need for the forum no to accept any proposed reconciliatory committee which was meant to waste their time at the advantage of Akeredolu.

He said ” the decision we have reached in the last July meeting with Asiwaju Tinubu, chief Bisi Akande and chief Segun Osoba at Heritage Hotel, akure will be upheld.

Tinubu stood up at the July meeting and confirmed our resolution that all party excos should be dissolved from the wards to the state level so as to allow peace reign.

Akeredolu was asked on that day if he agreed or disagreed and he told us all that day that he agreed.

So, this development we are seeing now is an insult to our leaders and must not be allowed to stand.

Our resolutions should be made known to Baba Akande and other national leaders of our party.
We must also go back to our local areas and start working for the actualisation of our aims and goals.”
