Fayemi is most followed southwest governor on Twitter

Twitter provides and encourages communication between multiple parties in a public forum, allowing you to get instant feedback from potential clients as well as followers.

Because the communication on Twitter is open for everyone else to follow, it encourages openness and accountability in communications.

Publicity is a very important part of being famous, and Twitter is one sure fire way to gain maximum exposure. The Twitter platform allows the famous users to get information to fans in an efficient manner.

It is also a fantastic way of promoting events, new releases, or even interviews that are available online and many Nigeria’s governors are active on the platform to communicate to their followers.

It is on this note that ROVING REPORTERS visited official twitter accounts of governors in the south west region of Nigeria.

Findings shows that the Ekiti State governor ,Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress,APC @kfayemi is the most followed governor in the region with over 450,000 followers.

Fayemi is the chairman of Nigeria’s governors forum.

Fayemi who joined twitter in 2009 also follows 804 personalities.

Followed by Fayemi is the Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu of APC @jidesanwoolu with over 390,000 followers.

Sanwoolu who joined Twitter in 2010 also follows 55 people on twitter.

Third in the rank is the Oyo state governor, Mr Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP @seyiamakinde with over 121,000 followers.

The Oyo state governor who joined twitter in 2014 also follows 154 people.

The fourth governor is Dr. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state of APC @dabiodunMFR with over 49,000 followers while he follows 38 people. He joined twitter in 2018.

The fifth on the rank is the Ondo state governor , Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of APC @rotimiakeredolu with over 31,000 followers. Akeredolu follows 131 people. He joined twitter in 2012.

The sixth on the rank is the governor of Osun state, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola of APC @gboyegaoyetola with over 14,600 followers . He follows 85 people. Oyetola joined twitter in 2018.
