NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE STABLE OF COM. OLUWOLE ADELEYE SUNDAY, CHAIRMAN, NLC, ONDO STATE

The dawning of a  brand new day and the brightness that revealed the new year 2020 is a confirmation of the truism that; to every end, there is a new beginning.

Fellow Workers, let me begin this goodwill message by saying Happy New year and a prosperous one to you all.

It is good at this time to look back and thank the Almighty God for His Mercy and compassion on us . Today, year 2019 has been consigned into the dustbin of history with it’s attendant the good, the bad and the ugly.

Comrades, year 2019 had its many challenges but, we give glory to God that here we are today to the glory of His name.

Our administration came on board on the 25th April, 2019 with the May Day being our first official outing. It is remarkable to note that, Mr Governor was present wherein I presented myriads of requests bothering on the welfare and well-being of Ondo State workers.

Comrades, let me remind you all that Mr. Governor in response to our demands immediately gave approval of Loans to state Primary school Teachers. He approved the release of utility vehicles to the three Labour centres in the state.

Arakunrin without delay approved our year 2019 promotion with letters released. Noteworthy is the appointment of Mr. Dare Aragbaiye who is a perfect gift to the bureaucracy of the state. He’s been a dependable link between the government and the workers.

His assumption of office saw to the review of traveling allowances payable to all categories of officers in the public service and recently the launch of ODSIP aimed at revatilising the public service by giving the best to it.

Adeleye

The state organised labour has enjoyed relative industrial harmony and peace with the government of the day as no air of harassment, intimidation and threat of any kind is seen or felt in the outgone year.

The year 2019 gave birth to the much talked about new minimum wage by the federal government of Nigeria in April, 2019. It is instructive to note that, Ondo State government set up negotiation team in November last year and up till now, negotiation is ongoing as no compromise has been reached with government on an agreeable new salary table.

As we begin the journey of the new year, I sincerely wish to appeal to you all that we continue to pray and keep faith with labour Leadership as we will at all time strive to ensuring the best welfare package is delivered to our doorstep.

Fellow workers, let me state at this point that to whom much is giving, much is equally expected. The present administration has kept faith with our salaries on a monthly and regular basis.

It is hoped therefore that, we would continue to give our best by being punctual, prompt and attending to our schedules in a satisfactory manner. Labour shall not allow for loss of job of anyone except, the one who will want to throw his or her job away. We’ve sworn to the protection of your jobs!

As we launch more into the new year, I wish to admonish that we manifest diligence, commitment and sacrifice where necessary for the advancement of the service.

It is therefore important to remember at this juncture our fallen heroes who who could not make it to the new year 2020. I remember the state Chairman of NUP, Ondo state council, late Pa R.A.O Adetuwo and other workers that passed to the great beyond. May their souls rest in perfect peace.

My good workers, this is an election year. Let us conduct ourselves in the most acceptable manner in line with our code of conduct. Let’s be seen and not heard. Demonstrate your franchise peacefully and be peaceful.

Finally, i thank the government, members of the organised labour, workers, our partners and good people of Ondo State. May we all have a new year filled with love, joy and happiness.
