Akeredolu has nothing to offer Ondo state in 2020

Ahead of ondo governorship election in 2020, The Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) in the state has asked the people of the state not to be too expectant in enjoying dividends of democracy in 2020 as governor Akeredolu has nothing left to offer them.

The director of Media and Publicity of the party in Ondo state, Mr Zadok Akintoye stated this in an Exclusive interview with ROVING REPORTERS in Akure.

Akintoye who wished the Ondo people a prosperous 2020 said the last two and half years of Akeredolu led administration had not be favourable to the people in all aspects.

Akintoye said “For us as a political party ,we are not expecting this APC government to perform better than it has done in the last two and half years because the key indices for human development have not been tackled.

In governance, the administration of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has not also shown itself to be transparent, to be open and to be accountable to the people.

There are recent allegations against this government that it is planning to bring in fulani herdsmen to settle in different parts of Ondo state and those allegations have not been yet denied or debunked by the government.

For instance ,we asked why the chief security officer of a state would not be able to mitigate the settlement of Fulani herdsmen in Ajowa Akoko.

Issues against this government are just too much and for us as a party, we are hoping that the 2020 governorship election will come quickly so that we can begin to give citizens of Ondo state a better government. I don’t expect that this government would do better than it has done.

In all key indices, you will see that this government has not performed as expected. So for us a PDP ,we don’t have any optimism that governor Akeredolu led administration will be of any great benefit to the citizens of Ondo state.

In 2020, we will be offering the people of Ondo state is good governance. We are offering them an opportunity to have a people friendly government in power and not a government that glorifies the syndrome of supporting someone their own people.

PDP will ensure that whoever emerges as our candidate as a political party ,will be somebody that will serve the interest of the people of Ondo state at all times.
