The management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic , Owo in Ondo state has debunked an online report that four Principal officers of the institution were jittery over an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission ( EFCC).
In a statement on Monday, the Director of Information services of the school, Mr. Samuel Ojo said that the story being reported by the Online Media , lacks substance, unfounded, uncalled for, a figment of its imagination and a mountain of lies.
“Ordinarily, the school management would not have responded to this frivolous and one – sided report, but for the need to inform the general public on our resolve for value system, to correct the misinformation and to clarify certain insinuation .”
The spokesperson, said that “ It is normal for EFCC to invite any individual or organization for questioning ,but the claim by the news medium that the officers are running from pillar to post is unfounded , a gross misinformation and a figment of the imagination of the writer , there is absolutely nothing to warrant any form of jittery as the issues at stake are without any misgivings.”
Mr Ojo also said that the faceless forum tagged Owo Progressive Forum is out to tarnish the good image of the school. ” It is rather unfortunate that a forum that called itself ‘ Owo Progressive Forum ‘ which is supposed to promote the school is giving it a bad name.
We use the forum to appreciate the good sons and daughters of Owo who have contributed immensely to the development of the school, notably among them, Papa Ajasin of the blessed memory, Rotimi Akeredolu, the present Governor, Banji Alabi, Chairman Governing council and others.”
