The Governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has sacked his Special Assistant on Political Matters, Mr Augustine Pelemo.
The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr.Donald Ojogo disclosed this In a statement issued on Monday.
The statement read, “This directive is with immediate effect; and it underscores the need to instil sanity and nip in the bud, divisive acts and tendencies inimical to the existing cordiality and cohesion in the administration led by the governor.
“While wishing him well in his future endeavours, Mr Governor further directs Pelemo to hand over every government property in his possession to the deputy chief of staff without further delay”.

Meanwhile, Roving Reporters on Monday gathered that Pelemo was sacked because of his comments on Facebook where he wished the wife of the deputy governor, Mrs Agboola happy birthday, describing her as ‘ Acting First Lady’ .
Pelemo on Sunday posted on his Facebook account “Happy Birthday to the Acting First Lady of Ondo State ” Chief Mrs. Ajewole Agbola Ajayi” long may you live ma ”.

The post
While reactions trail his post, one of his friends ,Segun Odidi said “Look at the result of this post by my friend Pelemo. While posting anything, let’s be sensitive ”.
Asked if the Facebook post was the reason Pelemo was sacked, the Commissioner for information and orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo told ROVING REPORTERS that the governor has the prerogative power to appoint and sack whoever he deemed fit.
“The second paragraph of the statement is explicit enough. I can’t go into further details.
Information at the disposal of Mr governor is more than those at our disposal and all of us are at his beck and call.
He appointed him and if he feels so desirable that he has to be relieved of his appointment, it is best known to Mr governor and it is not every information Mr governor has that he shares with us.
He has been liberal enough in the second paragraph of the statement to state that it is to engender cordiality and cohesion in the administration and acts that are capable of causing division within the administration must be nip in the bud” .
